Alasow Foundation extends its sincere appreciation to the Red Cross for its generous support and humanitarian commitment during the blessed month of Ramadan. Even in detention, preserving human dignity and the spirit of Ramadan remains essential.
Through this important initiative, the annual Ramadan food distribution has been launched to support nearly 5,000 detainees held in 11 places of detention across Somalia. Each detainee is provided with essential Ramadan food items, including dates, sugar, milk powder, and biscuits, while detention facility kitchens are supplied with additional food provisions to ensure consistent meal preparation throughout the holy month.
Alasow Foundation commends the Red Cross for upholding humanitarian values and ensuring that vulnerable individuals, including detainees, are not forgotten during Ramadan. Such efforts reflect the core principles of compassion, dignity, and solidarity, especially for those living in difficult and restricted conditions.
